A Message from Bishop Walter A. Hurley, Apostolic Administrator:
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that we’ve received word of a tragic plane crash on Beaver Island yesterday which claimed the lives of the pilot and three passengers. At this time, we know that among those who were lost is Mike Perdue, husband of Christie Perdue, President of the Northern Michigan Catholic Foundation. We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and extend our sympathy and prayers to the Perdue family and all the families mourning the tragic loss of their loved ones.
I ask for your prayers for those who have died and for those who mourn. I also ask for your prayers for healing for the Perdue’s young daughter, who miraculously survived the crash and is suffering significant injuries.
May those who have died Rest In Peace and may we find consolation in Christ’s promise of eternal life. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.
