Fall Formation Day: Pastoral Care of the Sick

Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM

The Office of Worship and Liturgy is pleased to announce the topic and keynote speaker of our upcoming Fall Formation Day! This November's event will focus on the Pastoral Care of the Sick, especially in light of the liturgical text for Anointing of the Sick and Their Pastoral Care, which has a newly approved English translation, approved earlier this year. The event will be open to all ministers to the sick but is designed especially for priests, deacons, parish liturgical leaders, parish administrators, and homebound/hospital ministry leaders.

When: Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Diocese of Gaylord Pastoral Center, Gaylord MI
Registration will open shortly after Labor Day.

Our keynote speaker will be Mrs. Rita A. Thiron, M. A., Executive Director of the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions (FDLC). Rita has served the bishops and liturgical leaders of the United States in this role since 2013, promoting the liturgical renewal of the Church as envisioned by the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (Sacrosanctum Concilium). Her speaking topics and a full schedule for the Fall Formation Day will be released in conjunction with the registration form after Labor Day.

Please mark your calendars for the 2026 Fall Formation Day. We look forward to having you join us!
