A Christmas Message from Bishop Walter A. Hurley

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As we draw near to Christmas, I want to assure you of my thoughts and prayers for you and your family. I pray that with renewed hope and expectation, you will be strengthened in your faith in Christ Jesus during these final days of Advent.

As children, we were once filled with a sense of wonder as we awaited the birth of Christ. I pray that we come to the manger this Christmas filled with the same sense of awe, knowing that Jesus became man so that you and I might know God’s love.

In our troubled world, it is this truth—that we are profoundly loved—that stills our hearts and brings us true peace. My prayer is that you may be filled with joy from this promise of unending love, reminded that you have been called to be the voice of this hope to a weary world. I pray that this hope be made alive through our charity, expressed for one another in a special way this season of Christmas.

I want you to know how very thankful I am for our Catholic family of the Diocese of Gaylord, of which you are a special and valued member.

May God bless you this Christmas and always.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

+Bishop Walter A. Hurley

Apostolic Administrator, Diocese of Gaylord
