Celebrating the Holy Family with Live Nativity Performances

St. Mary Honors the Miracle in Bethlehem

The humble manger scene, simple yet profound, proclaims the mystery of God’s love made flesh as children from St. Mary Catholic School in Lake Leelanau step into the Gospel story while parents, parishioners and friends join in with joyful carols, handmade crafts and warm fellowship. Sharing the Gospel through this live Nativity has quickly become a beloved tradition for families longing to keep Christ at the center of Christmas.

Each small act — whether building, singing or serving — is offered like a gift laid before the Christ Child, reminding all who gather that more than entertainment, the live Nativity is a true encounter with the Lord who entered our world in poverty and love, inviting us to pause, rejoice and celebrate the Savior who makes us one family in him.

Roscommon Youth Proclaim Christ’s Birth

The youth of St. Michael Parish stepped into Bethlehem, bringing the Gospel to life in their first live Nativity at Roscommon’s Christmas in the Village last year. With joy and reverence, they offered beautiful performances that invited hearts to behold the wonder of Christ’s birth. Through prayer, song and action, the story of Bethlehem unfolded, showing Mary and Joseph welcoming the Christ Child, the true light of the world.

The parish extended this blessing with a special weekend performance before Mass, lifting parishioners’ hearts in worship. For the young participants, it became more than acting; they discovered their call as evangelizers, sharing the Good News through their living witness. Families rejoiced as children and teens stepped forward to proclaim faith in tangible heartfelt ways.
