In response to the August fires on the island of Maui, parishes who choose to take up special collections can donate the proceeds to the Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA). The CCUSA Wildfire Relief funds will help families recover from the fires with 100% of gifts being sent to where they are needed most. Donations can be made at: CCUSA Wildfire Relief
The wildfires devastated downtown Lahaina, killing at least 115 people, evacuating thousands and destroying more than 2,000 structures -- damage is estimated to be in the billions of dollars beyond the loss of life.
